Duties
DePue USD 103 is seeking an outstanding instructional leader to serve as the principal beginning the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Assume responsibility and instructional leadership for the planning, operation, supervision, and evaluation of the educational program
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents and community members using a variety of mediums including technology
- Collaborate with teachers to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and individual teacher performance
- Coordinate and promote professional growth plans and opportunities for faculty and staff
- Responsible for horizontal, vertical and diagonal articulation and curricular alignment
- Work with teachers and parents to implement student interventions that differentiate instruction based on student need
- Oversee assessment programs
- Establish, monitor, and evaluate school improvement goals as documented in the annual School Improvement Plan
- Use data to make decisions about curriculum, assessment, instruction and all school improvement efforts
- Establish a culture of mutual respect and excellence through dialogue and relationships with staff, students, district office administrators, and community members
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate programs to enhance positive school culture and climate
- Coordinate selection of all certified and classified staff in collaboration with the district office
- Follow Board of Education and district office policies and procedures
- Maintain student handbook and building procedures
- Be responsible for student management, attendance and discipline
- Oversee the inventory, purchase, and organization of textbooks and supplies
- Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
- Supervise school activities and events
- Develop and administer school programs consistent with school district goals and objectives
- Supervise teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment
- Promote a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a General Administrative licensure. A strong background in curriculum and instruction, proactive discipline procedures, and athletic director experience is preferred.
Salary/Benefits
The salary and benefit package will be regionally competitive based on experience and educational level.
