*Participate in the development of appropriate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for deaf and hard-of-hearing students *Design and implement instructional lessons appropriate for deaf and hard-of-hearing students *Evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly *Develop the communication skills of deaf and hard-of-hearing students *Use appropriate amplification or other devices effectively with deaf and hard-of-hearing students *Work cooperatively and in a positive manner with Principal, parents, other staff, and students


*Illinois Professional Educator License *Teacher of Students Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing endorsement *Fluency in American Sign Language *Experience working with families and school age students who are deaf/hard of hearing or multiply disabled with hearing loss


Salary based on education and experience for a 180 day contract length. Benefits include health insurance, 12 paid sick days, 3 paid personal days and other leaves plus strong support for on-going professional development.

Additional Notes

Two positions are available: a high school classroom teacher for a D/HH program and an itinerant teacher for students who are D/HH.
