DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Operationalize the district's strategic goals and initiatives
- Establish and maintain an effective learning environment for all students
- Facilitate and foster positive working relationships with the parents and community
- Knowledge of curricular and instructional innovations
- Foster a positive working environment and building culture for all staff
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning in the development and implementation of instructional programs
- Develop and maximize the building schedule under the guidelines of District policy and practice
- Provide leadership for professional and classified personnel, pupils, and other persons assigned to perform service in the building
- Provide communication and conduct meetings with the staff as may be necessary for the proper and effective functioning of the school
- Assist in selecting and assigning certified and classified personnel
- Evaluate the performance of each member of the certified and classified staff assigned to the building
- Supervise and evaluate the building Assistant Principal
- Serve, facilitate, and oversee building IEP meetings as appropriate, as well as serve as a member of building and student problem-solving meetings
- Participate in MTSS planning and implementation of professional development activities
- Participate at the District level in professional growth activities
- Oversee pupil activities and the evaluation of their performance
- Maintain discipline and student safety throughout the school
- Develop and implement school improvement plans to ensure continued excellence
- Provide leadership for modification, utilization, care of buildings, physical facilities, and school grounds
- Assist in the selection of instructional supplies and equipment and in the preparation of the annual budget
- Administer the use of supplies, materials, and equipment by pupils and staff
- Prepare and submit such reports, records, and inventories as may be required by law, Board policies, and administrative directives
- Participate in District-level committees as assigned by the Superintendent
- Keep the Superintendent of Schools and other appropriate Central Office administrators informed of activities and conditions in the school
- See that all Board policies and administrative procedures are effectively implemented
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Superintendent or his/her designee may, from time to time, assign

Additional Notes
* 260 day calendar
* Position starts on July 1, 2026
* Roosevelt School - Approximately 700 students
* Will hire a new AP for the 2026-27 school year
