Perform duties in accordance with the current written agreement established between the Board of Education and the bargaining unit

Participate fully in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process

Administer the classroom and its programs and design appropriate developmental activities for students to promote growth of cognitive, effective, and psychomotor skills

Provide guidance to students which will promote their welfare and proper social and emotional development

Maintain adequate and careful records as required by the principal and superintendent and keep principal advised of atypical situations
-
Participate in staff meetings and in-service training programs as are scheduled for teachers
-
Report regularly to parents the progress of students
-
Provide for the care of school property and see that students use supplies, equipment and facilities properly

Is responsible for a reasonable amount of co-curricular and other duties beyond regular classroom activities as determined by the principal/district

Maintain cordial and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and participate in the business and activities of the faculty

Implement the curriculum per district philosophy and direction and participate in the development and revision of curriculum
-
Is responsible for reviewing and adhering to all board policies along with accompanying administrative regulations
-
Create a positive environment for maximum student growth in all areas by maintaining consistent discipline within their area of assignment at all times

Assume responsibility for written lesson plans

Promote a positive image to the community and students by their demeanor and appropriate appearance
-
Maintain a sense of pride and loyalty to the district
-
Work with grade level teachers to implement cooperative/team teaching efforts and all special area teachers deemed appropriate and necessary

Work with special services personnel of the district and non-certified personnel that serve the school
-
Work with parents and parent groups, i.e., PTA, PBC, advisory groups, etc., to foster and maintain a positive, cooperative working relationship and maintain programs that serve both student and school
-
Work with community to establish and maintain good public relations
-
Plan and coordinate the work of teacher/instructional aides
-
Report all cases of suspected child abuse/neglect to the principal/DCFS
-
Uphold the code of ethics for teachers which is listed in Section 508 of the Policy Manual
-
Deal justly with students regardless of their physical, mental, emotional, political, social, racial, or religious characteristics
-
Cooperate with all policies established by the Board of Education
-
Accept the responsibility for maintaining a professional level of service
-
Adhere to the conditions of the contract until service covered by it has been performed or the contract has been legally terminated
-
Conduct all professional business through the proper channels
-
Refrain from discussing confidential and official business with unauthorized persons
-
Give the building principal adequate advance notice of absences
-
Assume such teaching duties or related duties as may properly be assigned in the framework of the AGREEMENT and the policies adopted by the Board of Education

To be on duty prior to the beginning of the school day and to remain in the building after the students are dismissed as designated in the AGREEMENT
-
Display desirable and ethical relations among teachers, pupils, home, administration, Board of Education, and fellow staff members
