Lostant School CUSD #425 and Tonica Grade School District #79 are proud, student-focused school communities located in LaSalle County, Illinois. Serving approximately 140 students across two schools, both districts are built on a foundation of academic excellence, innovation, and strong community values.
Our schools thrive because of deep-rooted partnerships with families, local organizations, and engaged community members who actively contribute to student success. We believe schools are strongest when they are integral to the fabric of the communities they serve.
The Opportunity: We are seeking a community-driven, visionary, and collaborative leader to serve as the next Shared Superintendent of Lostant and Tonica School Districts. This is a unique leadership opportunity to guide two closely connected school communities with a history of successful collaboration, including a shared athletic cooperative.
The successful candidate will be a relationship builder who values transparency, inclusivity, and visibility in the community. We are looking for a superintendent who will not only lead our schools but become a trusted and familiar presence in both towns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader within both school communities-attending events, engaging with stakeholders, and fostering trust and connection.
- Partner with both Boards of Education, administrators, and community members to set and implement shared and district-specific goals.
- Lead with integrity and transparency, creating open lines of communication between the schools and the communities they serve.
- Oversee district operations, educational programs, and strategic initiatives while promoting community-informed decision-making.
- Ensure sound fiscal management and equitable resource use, with an understanding of community priorities and values.
- Promote inclusive practices that honor diversity and ensure that all students feel supported and valued.
