Duties

  1. As a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet, collaborates with stakeholders to align resources to support the educational priorities of the school district.
  2. Provides leadership to the Board of Education’s facilities and finance standing committees.
  3. Provides leadership to the District Operations Team (DOT).
  4. Recommends to the Superintendent any changes needed in policy or administrative procedures.
  5. Supervises the Director of Business Services / CSBO, Director of Operations / CSBO, and Safety and Security Manager.
  6. Serves as a member of the Board’s management team in collective bargaining negotiations, and prepares materials needed in negotiations with the Director of Business Services / CSBO.
  7. Collaborates with legislative and professional associations regarding significant educational issues at the local, state, and national levels.
  8. Attends Board of Education meetings and prepares such reports for the Board as the Superintendent may request.
  9. Completes special projects as assigned by the Superintendent.
  10. Demonstrates high standards of integrity and professional conduct with consideration for fairness and honesty, and implements a collaborative decision-making process throughout all department activities.
  11. Prepares annual short and long-range enrollment and financial forecast for the school district.
  12. Coordinates cost containment efforts, working with all stakeholders to find innovative solutions to reduce costs that protect the educational priorities of the district.
  13. In collaboration with the Director of Business Services / CSBO, leads the development of the school district’s annual budget and tax levy, and monitors the implementation and performance of projected revenues and expenditures.
  14. Through the Director of Operations / CSBO, oversees the legal, contractual, and operational functions relative to all facilities, including the work of all outside consultants and the development and implementation of the long-term facilities plan.
  15. Serves as the school district’s representative to the Secondary School Cooperative Risk Management Program (SSCRMP).
  16. Directs, through the Director of Business Services / CSBO, the tasks of business record keeping and the operations of business services including the annual external audit, payroll, benefit programs, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgetary reports, student fees, student activity funds, and related management information and data processing systems.
  17. Directs, through the Director of Operations / CSBO, all areas of procurement involving bidding for and/or purchasing of supplies and equipment for use within the district.
  18. Negotiates and executes all contracts for products and services in compliance with Board Policy.

Qualifications

  1. Professional Educator License with General Administrative, Chief School Business Official, or Superintendent Endorsement.
  2. Minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Administration.
  3. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in education, educational administration, or school finance.
  4. Possess knowledge and experience developing and implementing a school district’s annual budget and tax levy, inclusive of debt service and capital project management.
  5. Possess highly developed interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills to make sound and proactive decisions with little or no direction.
  6. Possess excellent communication skills.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary/Benefits

The base salary for licensed administrators will be determined by their placement on the teacher salary schedule, with an additional position-specific factor of 1.39. The 2025-2026 Teacher Salary Schedule is expected to be released in Spring 2025, and will be based on the consumer price index (CPI). Please refer to the job description attached to learn more about the essential functions of the position. 

 

This position comes with a competitive compensation package, family health and dental insurance, full tuition reimbursement, and basic life insurance coverage of up to two times the individual's annual base salary, capped at a maximum of $500,000.
