Duties

The Assistant Superintendent will monitor, coordinate, and supervise all school
operations, including but not limited to student achievement, staff evaluations, school safety,
personnel decisions, principal performance, staff attendance, facility issues, school climate, data
analysis and how it drives instruction, professional development, leadership training, and Title Grant
administration. The Assistant Superintendent provides leadership in promoting the educational
objectives and values of collaborative planning, district curriculum, effective instruction practices, and
responsive programs and services.

Qualifications

• Professional Educator License with Superintendent Endorsement
• Master's degree in the field of education, Doctorate preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of teaching, supervision, communication, human relations, and guidance
skills.
• Knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments in the field of educational
administration, curriculum and assessment, and professional development
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Prior supervisory/administrative experience required.
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience required.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License.
