Qualifications
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in school facilities management or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Evidence of successful experience in supervising large groups of personnel and/or personnel at multiple locations via front line supervisors
- Substantial background in engineering, building construction management, facility management, and personnel management.
- A thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems, and computer-based energy management systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with contacts at all levels of the organization, including the board of education.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with contacts outside of the District, including contractual service companies, consultants, manufacturers of products used within the District buildings and federal and state agencies.
- Experience with the Illinois School Code, life safety procedures and mandates from the Illinois State Board of Education.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, administration or architectural engineering (or related fields) required.
AFE Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (CPMM) strongly preferred
AFE Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) preferred
Master’s degree in engineering, business, administration or architectural engineering (or related fields) preferred.

Salary/Benefits
This is a 12-month position.
Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
The full salary range for this position is $132,264 to $198,409. It is our typical practice to hire in between the minimum and midpoint ($165,343).
