Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and provide appropriate services for children with communication disorders in the following areas:

  • Phonological/articulation disorders
  • Language disorders
  • Stuttering/dysfluency
  • Feeding + Swallowing
  • Speech-language disorders resulting from hearing impairment
  • Speech-language disorders resulting from organic anomalies
  • Speech-language disorders secondary to a variety of diagnoses (ASD, Down Syndrome, ODD, etc.)
  • Participate in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives for each student’s needs as applicable to the educational setting.
  • Interpret test findings and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Participate in all pre-referral and referral procedures as required by the District.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and complete progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community agencies.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and other IEP committee members to ensure that students’ needs are being met.
  • Model professional and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Participate in District department meetings of speech-language pathologists for the purpose of coordinating and improving the program and services to students.

Qualifications

Qualifications:  Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited educational
Institution (required)

  • Illinois Professional Educators licensure with Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement(s) (required)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred)
  • Experience in public schools (preferred)

 Huntley High School .5 and Marlowe Middle School .5
Starting date:            2024 / 2025 School Year
Range of pay:            Based on years of experience and education
Work Schedule:        10 months / Part Time
Classification:            HEA
