Duties
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department Chairperson serves as the primary instructional leader in the department and fulfills both teaching and leadership duties and responsibilities. The Department Chairperson provides leadership in the areas of instructional improvement, teacher evaluation, curriculum development, and other related instructional areas. He/she will serve as the high school coordinator for IEP meetings. The Department Chairperson provides educational guidance, support, and leadership to the staff to ensure the district’s educational goals are being met.
Qualifications
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree, 5 or more years related experience and/or training preferred. Valid IL Professional Educators License with LBS1 and General Administrative K-12 endorsements required. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated strong background in instructional leadership and instructional coaching is preferred.
Salary/Benefits
RANGE OF PAY: Based upon experience and education
WORK HOURS: 10 months/Full-time (205 days)
CLASSIFICATION: Teacher/Administrator
