Work directly under the supervision of the Building Principal and administrative team. Responsible for leading instruction at the school. Work directly with students in providing instructional programs that meet the student's individual aspirations, capabilities, interests, and needs. Work with other teachers, staff, and administrators in achieving the district and department goals, objectives, and philosophy. Develop and maintain effective communication with parents. In accordance with school policies as established by the Board of Education, responsible for students’ supervision and the development and implementation of instructional programs for which they are certified. Responsible for providing information for the revision and development of new policies regarding educational programs.



Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related field, or foreign equivalent and 2 years of teaching experience working with a diverse population in an urban school setting. Fluency in Spanish is required. Current valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) is required. This position also requires: experience with IEP software processes and procedures; experience with data and research to develop and assess district strategies that increase student learning; required physical demands: standing, walking, sitting, significant fine finger dexterity, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, lifting up to 100 lbs., pushing and/or pulling, close, distance, and peripheral vision.


 $43,325 - $66,097 (commensurate with education and experience).
