Duties

  • We have an immediate opening for a dynamic individual who can work with Pre-k thru 8th graders and their families to provide counseling, social work and promote social emotional learning.
  • Demonstrates competency of School Social Work responsibilities and ethics. 
  • Differentiates counseling methods to meet the needs of all students 
  • Revises plans on an ongoing basis, considering student's needs, ability levels and interests
  • Provides clear directions and explanations to students 
  • Supports and accepts pupil ideas and responses 
  • Provides transition activities for incoming students and their parents 
  • Facilitates conferences with teachers and/or parents and/or students; plans and conducts parent education  programs; assists families with school-related problems and issues 
  • Refers students with problems and their parents to appropriate specialists, special programs, or outside  agencies 
  • Consults and collaborates with in-district specialists such as school psychologists, social workers, and  nurses 
  • Consults with and refers to community-based resources including other counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians,  service agencies, and others 
  • Provides professional development for all staff to support universal social-emotional programmin
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to read, learn and interpret rules and regulations 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships 
  • Ability to establish rapport with students, parents and staff 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Valid Licensure 
  • Pass a criminal fingerprint background check
