Duties
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and provide appropriate services for children with communication disorders in the following areas:
- Phonological/articulation disorders
- Language disorders
- Stuttering/dysfluency
- Feeding + Swallowing
- Speech-language disorders resulting from hearing impairment
- Speech-language disorders resulting from organic anomalies
- Speech-language disorders secondary to a variety of diagnoses (ASD, Down Syndrome, ODD, etc.)
- Participate in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives for each student’s needs as applicable to the educational setting.
- Interpret test findings and make appropriate recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
- Participate in all pre-referral and referral procedures as required by the District.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and complete progress reports.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community agencies.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and other IEP committee members to ensure that students’ needs are being met.
- Model professional and ethical conduct at all times.
- Participate in District department meetings of speech-language pathologists for the purpose of coordinating and improving the program and services to students.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited educational
Institution (required)
- Illinois Professional Educators licensure with Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement(s) (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred)
- Experience in public schools (preferred)
Salary/Benefits
Range of pay: Based on years of experience and education
Work Schedule: 10 months / Full Time
