Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that address state and national Art standards.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that fosters artistic exploration and experimentation. Foster a love of learning and art.
  • Employ a variety of art techniques and media across all grade levels.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Integrate arts education with other academic subjects whenever possible.
  • Maintain a safe and well-organized art studio environment.
  • Stay current with best practices in art education and curriculum development.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field.
  • Certified to teach Art in Illinois (PEL).
  • Successful teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of art history, techniques, and various media.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students of all ages.
  • Passion for fostering creativity and artistic growth in students.
  • Proficiency in using technology to support instruction.

Lowpoint-Washburn is a vibrant and innovative school community. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Art Instructor to join our team and develop a dynamic and engaging art program for students. Approximately fifty percent of instructional time will be at the high school level.
