Duties
The principal of Gifford Grade School (K-8) will be responsible for over-seeing the day to day operations of the school, teacher evaluations, student behavior management, special education, monitoring student achievement data to utilize for implementing and adjusting curriculum and instructional delivery, and providing support for teachers and staff. The principal will work in conjunction with the superintendent on curriculum, professional development, and as an administrative team. Other duties include supervision of extra-curricular activities, emergency/safety plans, and any other duties as prescribed by the superintendent.
Qualifications
Must have an Active Illinois Professional Educators License with a General Administrative Endorsement with at least four years of teaching experience and qualified to evaluate teachers. The applicant should be a team player focused on creating and maintaining a positive learning environment and school culture who can effectively communicate with staff, students, parents and the community. The principal shall be a positive minded leader dedicated with the focus on positive student outcomes and experiences at our school.
Salary/Benefits
Salary will be regionally competitive and determined by the Board of Education.
10 Month Working Contract -- 2 weeks before start of school and 2 weeks after.
Board paid TRS. $650 a month towards health insurance or the actual cost of employee coverage, whichever is less --choice of plans (this fully covers all plans except for one).
12 sick days, 3 personal
Professional Organization Dues -- IPA
