Duties

1. Develop and monitor Special Programs, including curriculum, assessment, recruitment of staff, and
performance data analysis for World Languages, Dual Language, ELL, Bilingual, and Advanced
Academic Programming (REACH 2-8, Double Promotion, Early Entrance).
2. Liaison to BPAC (Bilingual Parent Advisory Council), Dual Language Parent Advocacy Committee
(DPAC), and REACH Parent Group.
3. Coordinate, train staff, and implement language assessments (ACCESS K-12, WIDA Screener K-8,
AAPPL 3-12).
4. Oversee and support proactive involvement of Parent Liaisons across Elmhurst District 205.
5. Co-lead District-wide translation and interpretation services in collaboration with the Communications
Department.
6. Coordinate and supervise all elements of Kindergarten Registration, Lottery, and Placement (for All-Day
Kindergarten, Dual Language and Half Day Kindergarten).

7. Write, administer, and monitor changes to grants (Title I, Title II, Title III, etc.) in collaboration with
Learning and Teaching, ,Student Services and under the leadership of the Executive Director of
Elementary Education and the Associate Superintendent.
8. In coordination with the Executive Director, collaborate with principals, staff and other supervisors to
monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs to ensure programs achieve short and
long-term goals and that services are administered uniformly, equitably and effectively at all schools.
9. Coordinate all Title Grants and ISBE External Assurance Compliance at all schools and execute all
external reporting related to Grants, including budgeting, reports, and amendments.
10. Coordinate the workflow of the Administrative Assistants in the Department of Learning and Teaching
under the leadership of the Associate Superintendent.
11. Assist Directors with coordinating Professional Development experiences for all staff and informational
events for parents within the Department of Learning & Teaching.
12. Facilitate the logistical coordination of district inservice days and district level Professional
Development, including but not limited to New Educator Academy/Orientation and Institute Days.
13. Oversee and coordinate D205 University for Staff and National Board Certification.
14. In coordination with the Executive Directors, collaborate with involved staff to plan and implement
Mentor Programming.
15. Maintain and approve professional development paperwork and provide necessary information to ISBE
and ROE regarding district PD activities and admin academy.
16. Create and maintain community partnerships when appropriately connected to curriculum and
instruction.
17. Keep current in knowledge of curriculum and instructional pedagogy.
18. Maintain curricular documents and curriculum web pages which accurately reflect curricula.
19. Coordinate curriculum planning and alignment with relevant Department Chairs and York High School
Division Chairs where applicable.
20. Perform other tasks and assume responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

? Illinois Administrative License
? Illinois Teaching Certificate - Type 03, 09 or 10
? Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
? Strong knowledge of curriculum/instruction/staff development
? Master’s Degree
? Evidence of at least five (5) years of exemplary classroom teaching expertise
? Deep understanding of current curriculum practices, instructional pedagogy, formative and summative
assessments, and implications for classrooms
? Deep understanding of the Illinois Learning Standards for World Languages (and, incorporating
Common Core, etc.)
? Proven leadership skills to facilitate teachers and leaders in curriculum, instruction, and professional
development
? Ability to create and use spreadsheets in Excel and Google Sheets (Google Suite)
? Knowledge of the State IWAS and SIS systems and the Grant Application Process and appropriations of
funds to meet the needs of students
? Proven ability to listen, share ideas, identify obstacles to student achievement, and plan with other
administrators
