Maintains a student-centered approach to teaching and learning for students with disabilities.  Experience providing reading and math interventions, progress monitoring, co-teaching and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators and parents.  Provides responsive, rigorous and differentiated instruction to ensure all students are successful. Participates in collaborative curriculum design. Creates a positive classroom environment. Exhibits flexibility, initiative and creativity.  Possesses strong classroom management skills. Uses student learning data to adjust instruction, monitor student growth, and design IEP goals. Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. Ensures that each student’s goals and objectives are addressed; maintains and updates special education records for accuracy and compliance. She/he will collaborate with administration, general education teachers and related service providers.    Other duties as assigned. 


Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL); ESL or Bilingual Preferred
