Duties

1. Guide the learning process toward achievement of district approved curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students.

2. Design and provide an educational experience for students who have been quarantined due to COVID-19 exposure.
3. Coordinate all instructional materials for students who are in quarantine status, and follow-up with the student on progress of required classwork.

4. Manage student learning via remote platform as necessary while student is in quarantine status.

5. Facilitate student support for those enrolled in the Credit Recovery Program, including but not limited to managing Edgenuity, or other Learning Management System platforms.

6. Implement academic, social, and emotional interventions aimed at increasing
student success.

7. Collaborate with students, process social, emotional, and/or academic concerns, problem solve potential solutions, oversee the implementation of potential solutions, and track student success.

  • 8. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request
    of immediate supervisor.

9. Provide instruction that meet the individual need, interest, and ability of the students.
10. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media.

18. Implement rules of classroom behavior and procedures, and maintain order in
the classroom in a fair and just manner.

19. Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required to do so under reasonable terms.

20. Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

21. Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

22. Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Guidance.

Qualifications

• ISBE Professional Educator’s License
• Endorsements as appropriate

• Bachelor or Master's Degree in Education or Special Education
• Record of successful experience in an educational and behavioral setting.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.

Salary/Benefits

Salary will be according to the Teacher contract.
