The Behavioral Consultant will collaborate with special education staff in a private day school setting. The consultant will work with pupils experiencing social-emotional and behavioral difficulties so they can participate fully in school activities in order to reach their full potential. The consultant will identify and assess student needs, develop interventions, and provide training to staff. Must be able to function independently while managing multiple projects and timelines.


  1. Valid Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License (PEL).
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech-Language Pathology, Social Work, Education or related fields, preferred. 
  3. Minimum of 2 years experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and/or related disabilities and co-occurring challenging behaviors.
  4. Experience in implementation of positive behavior support plans based upon principles of behavior analysis.
  5. Preferred understanding and awareness of autism and related disorders.
