Thomasboro Grade School is seeking a highly qualified elementary (K-8) Principal with experience in an elementary classroom. The Principal will be responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as provide leadership in all areas of curriculum and school improvement.

Primary Function:

The principal is charged with the following responsibilities:

  • Improving Teaching and Learning
  • Building and Maintaining Collaborative Relationships
  • Leading with integrity and Professionalism
  • Creating and Sustaining a Culture of High Expectations

Supervisory Responsibilities

The following positions report to the Principal

  • All certified staff (teachers)
  • All other certified staff (counselors, social workers)
  • Teaching Assistants
  • Provide input to Building and Grounds, supervise the custodians
  • Secretaries
  • Cooks
  • Volunteers



                Illinois Type 75 Certification

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.  


Term of Employment

200 Days- Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education
