Duties

JOB GOAL
The primary responsibility of the speech/language pathologist is to deliver speech/language services as mandated on student IEP's in accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education requirements.

MAJOR DUTIES & PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The criterion indicated below are intended to describe various types of work that may be performed and is by no means all encompassing.
Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide speech and language services to district students eligible for speech and language services
  • Develop, in collaboration with team members, appropriate IEP goals based on formal and informal assessment results
  • Submit quarterly progress reports
  • Update quarterly benchmarks related to IEP goals at designated times
  • Establish and maintain a consistent form of communication with the parents/guardians of students as needed on caseload throughout the school year
  • Provide support, resources, and recommendations for all classrooms on caseload as needed throughout the school year

Qualifications

Licensure:  Valid Illinois Professional Educator License Type 73 (PEL)

Endorsement: 

  • Master's Degree in Communication Science and Disorders
  • Speech and Language Pathology Endorsement
  • Certificate of Clinic Competence (CCC) preferred
  • Bilingual required
