  • Assisting in daily school activities and assumes responsibility for functions of the superintendent in his absence.
  • Implements student personnel policies and coordinates activities with the policies of the Board of Education in regards to attendance and discipline guidelines for student conduct and disciplinary procedures and incentives and achievement.
  • Monitors student achievement data and institutes and/or implements adjustments in curriculum/instructional delivery.
  • Oversees RTI and special education; attends RTI and IEP meetings.
  • Supervise, discipline, and monitor students.
  • Follow all state and federal laws, district practices, school board policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Enforce school policies, administrative rules, and regulations.
  • Assist with facility management.
  • Provide professional development to the staff and evaluate staff as assigned by the superintendent.  
  • Support organization-wide and school goals and initiatives
  • Create master schedules for student and teacher assignments.
  • Assist in supervising extra-curricular activities.
  • Be proactive in solving conflicts, concerns, and problems with all stakeholders by communicating with all stakeholders in a timely manner. 
  • All actions must be in concert with the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the strategic plan of the Gifford Board of Education.
  • Assumes any other duties as may from time to time be delegated by the superintendent and may make any adjustments in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above.

*****In addition to the above responsibilities, this position would also include the Athletic Director’s job description only if there is no union member who wants the position.  This would have to be on a year to year basis since the AD position is a union position.


The appropriate candidate for this position will have 5 - 10 years of successful teaching experience in the classroom, experience at the elementary (K-8) level is preferred and proficiency as a teacher coach is a plus. This position requires a Masters Degree in Education, in depth familiarity with Common Core and Next Generation learning standards, understanding of appropriate education practices and the ability to emulate good teaching. Candidates should possess great presentation skills and be skilled at developing and delivering professional development.

  • Demonstrated success in the areas of ELA or Mathematics based on achievement & improvement in standardized test scores
  • Must have or be willing to take the evaluation workshops to evaluate staff


  • 11 month position
  • Three Year Contract
  • Paid TRS, 12 sick days, 3 personal days and a $575 per month insurance benefit 
  • Starting Salary - $60,000
