Duties

  • Implements student personnel policies and coordinates activities with the policies of the Board of Education in regards to attendance, discipline, and achievement.
  • Interviews students to take necessary action in discipline matters.
  • Maintains district records on student attendance.
  • Interviews students, parents, and staff to take necessary action in cases of truancy, delinquency, and participates in the county truancy review board.
  • Conducts teacher evaluations in accordance with the district's PERA evaluation plan.
  • Monitors student achievement data and institutes and/or implements adjustments in curriculum/instructional delivery
  • Assumes responsibility for functions of building principal in his/her absence.
  • Supervises curricular and extra-curricular activities that may include evenings and weekends.
  • Assumes any other duties as assigned by the building principal or district superintendent and the building principal or district superintendent may make any adjustment in the scope of responsibilities as outlined above.

Qualifications

  • Professional Educators License with endorsement in general administration (Type 75).
  • Management and leadership skills adaptable to public relations, human relations, and equity principles.
  • Written and communication skills
  • Teacher evaluation training preferred, but not required.  Can be trained after employment
  • Experience preferred, but not required.
