Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology & Trades (Shop) Teacher - Herscher High School - 2020-2021 school year

Part- or Full-time position.

Duties include but are not limited to:
-Provide instruction to students in areas of industrial arts including woodworking, metalworking, using power and manual tools, home maintenance/repair, electricity, drafting, welding, automotive and engineering.


Minimum Qualifications:
60 college credit hours + 2,000 work hours in related field
High School Diploma + 8,000 work hours in related field

We are seeking someone with skills or work experience in woodworking, metalworking, electricity, drafting, welding, automotive and engineering who is passionate about passing on what they know to the next generation and someone willing to continue learning. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
-General and wide-ranging knowledge of woodworking, metalworking, home maintenance, electricity, drafting, welding, automotive and engineering tools and their use, tuning and maintenance needs.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to assist others in improving their problem-solving skills.
Experience in laying out custom work plans for projects, including design, materials and sequence of operations.
-Ability to motivate, build rapport with and explain concepts to students with a variety of life experiences, aptitudes, technical knowledge and learning styles.
-Ability and willingness to organize a Shop environment
