Duties
DISTRICT-WIDE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
Position Goal: Using the approved Board of Education curriculum, provide multiple teaching and learning strategies, technology and resources to challenge and enhance the intellectual, emotional and psychological growth of students as completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher
The District Substitute Teacher shall be responsible for the following duties and perform other duties as assigned by the administrator or their designee:
Superintendent/Board:
Observe and adhere to all Board of Education policies and regulations, and all administrative rules and procedures
Building:
Report to Building Principal, Assistant Principal, or designee upon arrival at the school
Review with the administration or designee all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day
Maintain the established routines and procedures of the school and assigned classroom
Teach the lesson outlined and described I the Substitute Teacher’s handbook as prepared by the absent teacher
Consult when necessary with the administration before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher’s handbook
Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and all other assigned activities
Report on form provided by the district, the day’s activities at the end of each teaching day
Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject
Individual:
Exhibit confidentiality in relation to students, faculty and parents
Develop a positive working relationship with administration, staff, students and parents
Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth and development by attending meetings, workshops, conferences and continuing education classes as related to the educational setting
Remain current in new literature and materials, changes in curriculum needs, new technology and programs
Be knowledgeable of and adhere to the District Safety Plan

Qualifications
Preferred that you have a Professional Educator License (PEL) endorsed in Elementary Education (K-9) or endorsed in Secondary Education (6-12) with multiple endorsements. Educator License with Stipulation(ELS) as a Substitute will also be considered.
