Duties

  • Provide support and assistance to classroom teachers in the full and skillful implementation of the district's adopted core and intervention programs and practices.
  • Coordinate and provide PD opportunities, and other learning opportunities for teachers and staff as assigned by Director.
  • Conduct professional development through D300 Universities and D300 Institute Days.
  • Collaborate with teachers to emphasize collaborative dialogue and training on instructional practices that supports student achievement and progress.
  • Use student growth measures to assist classroom teachers in making decisions to improve instructional practices and interventions.
  • Assist teachers in the assessment and screening of students for proper placement in academic and intervention programs.
  • Participate in PLC data reviews concerning academic progress for students who are struggling or are in need of services.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as needed for the position.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Literacy.
  • Work with team and Director on curriculum enhancements as needed.

Qualifications

Appropriate Illinois Licensure with Reading Specialist Endorsement/Reading Teacher Endorsement
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Skill in collecting, interpreting, and communicating data to a variety of audiences.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel.
Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software.
Possess excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrate knowledge in support and intervention strategies.
Ability to work closely with other staff members.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Additional Notes

Full Time (1.0 FTE)
Support all aspects of curriculum and instruction. This position will support multiple D300 schools.
