Case Manager

Who are we looking for?

Responsibilities 

  •      Coordinate the delivery of special education services and will be the primary contact for parents
  •      Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of Tier Two and Three interventions
  •      Ensure that special education services and related services are provided to scholars as outlined in their IEPs
  •      Supervise and monitor clinicians and services (counseling, social work, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy)
  •      Facilitate all required meetings and draft, complete, and approve all paperwork
  •      Ensure full compliance with all reporting and service delivery requirements for IEP services
  •      Develop and facilitate programs and services for exceptional scholars (both above and below grade level)                                                        
  •      Plan and provide professional development to general and special educators under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer


Qualifications 

  • Drive to stay focused on scholar achievement and growth even when it is difficult
  • Grit to be solution-focused and keep going until the desired results are achieved
  • Growth mindset to see failures and setbacks as challenges to learn from and overcome
  • Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting preferred, but not required.
  • Valid Illinois Type 10 or LSB1 Certification is required.
  • Belief in and alignment with Galapagos' core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable.
