Duties
To provide instructional support and Professional Development for ELA/Reading and a variety of instructional practices, grades K-12.
- Facilitate and develop regional, county, district and building professional development that is aligned with best practices
- Ensure coordination of support and services with district and building level administrators
- Guide outside consultants in providing Professional Development
- Assess district’s needs through multiple data sources to make appropriate Professional Development suggestions
- Provide information to assistant to schedule, invoice and receive payments for services
- Plan and deliver Curriculum Professional Development
- Maintain records of school and classroom support provided to LEAs
- Development of reading assessment tools
- Support school districts with alignment to Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan
- Development and Delivery of School Improvement Professional Development services
- Interpret school and district level data to make curriculum recommendations
Qualifications
· Valid Teaching License
· Two years teaching experience
· Proven experience with adult learners
· Demonstrated evidence of experience in designing staff development opportunities related to local school improvement initiatives
· Evidence of strong communication skills and public presentation skills
· Reading Specialist or Teacher Endorsement preferred
