Duties

Duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing internal and external communications including creating talking points, speeches, articles for a monthly magazine and other association publications, surveys, drafting association emails to members, electronic media, presentation materials, and managing the design and content of the association’s website, etc.
  • Representing the association as the official spokesperson and liaison to the news media and handling all crisis communication messaging for members.
  • Working with the graphics staff to develop all association brochures and publications.
  • Managing all Social Media content development, outreach and maintenance for the association, including Twitter, Facebook, association website, etc.
  • Traveling to regional meetings and presenting workshops on Crisis Communications.

Qualifications

Strong writing, editing, public speaking and leadership skills are required.  A bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a similar area of study is preferred along with at least 5 years of communications experience. Must be able to work under tight deadlines.

Salary/Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience; benefits include single medical, dental, vision and 401k.  This is not a TRS position. The starting date of employment is April 2019 or when the successful candidate is selected.
