Duties

  1. Administrate the salary/wage and benefits program for the district, to include, but not limited to:
    1. Process semi-monthly payroll for professional, support, substitute, and co-curricular staff.
    2. Process and send direct deposit, tax, and retirement payments electronically.
    3. Maintains a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the District for payroll.
    4. Maintaining of benefits eligibility as defined by the Affordable Care Act.
    5. Prepares withholding, social security, 1095’s, Quarterly Federal Tax Return (Form 941), IMRF, Teachers’ Retirement System, employer tax returns, annual employee W-2’s, Teachers’ Retirement Report.
    6. Coordination of the District benefits program including insurance, flexible benefits program, and tax sheltered annuities.
  2. Maintain official personnel records for all employees of the District to include, but not limited to:
    1. Payroll records
    2. Benefits records
    3. Approved leave of absence records
  3. Serves as district contact for Teacher Retirement System and Illinois Municipal Retirement System.
  4. Provide assistance to all staff by researching and responding to payroll related inquires.
  5. Complete all employment verification requests.
  6. Serves as a back-up for Accounts Payable.
  7. Serves as back-up for the recording of all cash receipts and state revenue on to the financial system in order to prepare financial statements, income statements, and cost reports to reflect financial condition of the District.
  8. Prepare daily cash deposits and deliver said funds to the District bank for deposit.
  9. Assist in compiling necessary paperwork and assist with questions during annual audit.
  10. Completion of the General State Claim.
  11. Completion of the Transportation Claim.
  12. Assist with special education personnel claim.
  13. Assist with special education pupil claims.
  14. Assist with expenditure reporting of State and Federal Grants.
  15. Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance and Operations.

 

Qualifications

College Degree in the area of business/finance

Minimum two years’ experience in payroll processing or demonstrate successful experiences in a closely related field.

Demonstrate competence in the use of technology

Experience with Skyward financial software preferred

Salary/Benefits

Twelve month position

Salary and benefits to be established by the Board of Education.
