Goal: To assist students in academic scheduling, and the gaining of information necessary to develop post-secondary plans, as well as to assist students in resolving such personal, emotional, social and academic problems which interfere with their ability to receive the maximum benefits of the education offered by Leland CUSD #1. Duties: 1. Provide leadership and collaborate with other educators in the school-wide integration of guidance. 2. Implement developmentally appropriate and prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals. 3. Accurately and appropriately interprets and utilize student data. 4. Collaborate with parents and other educators to assist students with educational, career, and life planning. 5. Assist all students individually and or in groups, with developing academic, career and persona/social skills, goals, and plans. 6. Provide individual and group counseling to students that have identified concerns and needs. 7. Serve as the districts state wide assessment coordinator. 8. Assist teachers, parents, and students in interpreting and understanding student data. 9. Adhere to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the school counseling profession. 10. Monitor student academic performance, behavior, and attendance and facilitates appropriate interventions. 11. Assumes risk care management duties. 12. Other duties as assigned by Building Administration.
